NDE W/O DYING
by Keevin Doster
This past September, I had a real eye-opening experience, one which put me
in touch with an aspect of reality I had not known existed. I was having
some body-work done when a memory triggered - I remembered "where" I came
from before being born.
The immediacy and the power of this contact left a strong imprint on my
body's experience and memory - I had experienced it, I had been there, I
knew what had happened - I could feel this in my body, clearly
identifiable.
Suspecting that this immediacy would fade over time and probably
eventually escape me totally, I began a search through spiritual,
religious, psychological and metaphysical literature to find more
information that could help me keep it fresh. What I found was that
everyone - masters, priests, scholars, experts, everyone - worte as if
they stood at a distance and reported on something way over there which
they thought or felt qualified to speak on. But their words - between the
lines - lacked the immediacy of having actually experienced for
themselves, directly, that which they talked about, leaving me greatly
frustrated.
What I finally found that came closest to my experience were reports on
"near death experiences" (NDE) - people who had died and returned to life.
Much of what they report fits right in with what I experienced - but I
didn't die; with me, it was a memory. I had opened to the same realm
without dying! What possibilities this suggests!
And as I anticipated (based on earlier experiences along these lines), the
fresh strong impression of the moment did gradually fade away, growing
weaker and weaker in my memory, until it finally disappeared from sight.
During this time, I failed to find a technique or method to keep the
original experience fresh and immediate for me. While NDE reports
resonate with me and what I experienced, what those who had NDE did
afterwards was no help - generally, people used whatever belief systems
they had beforehand as their points of reference to understand what had
happened. In other words, if they were Christians, they saw God, or Jesus
Christ, or angels - in Heaven; if they were atheists, they saw it in terms
of existential reality and psychological archetypes.
I'm probably somewhere between the two - I'm not concerned with validating
existing beliefs - I just want to be ble to get back to that touchpoint I
stumbled onto (or into).
To that end, I have developed keys to unlock those doors I find blocking
me. I still have some work to do before I'm fully merged and integrated
with it, but I'm alot closer than I've ever been before. In my next
article, I'll share with you my techniques and ideas.
Email me at "keevind@cnw.com" to share with me your experiences and responses to this article. I look forward to hearing from you!
