Welcome to 1998 A new year is upon us including all the joys, expectations, hopes and desires that they bring.

As you read this I will be winging my way to the western lands of Australia and 1 have to say that my heart and body are filled with wonder and a sense of expectation with hopes and desires for endless joy

Firstly, I expect heat. After all it is their summer and as Australia, New Zealand and Antarctica are the closest places to the southernmost parts of the hole in the Ozone layers, I am expecting it to be incredibly hot, very sweaty and deliciously palpable!'!

Secondly. I hope to be nurtured, and- as all my Antipodean friends are welcoming me into the bosom of their lives, their hearts and their homes, I can feel my soul preparing and opening, Fur a soothing time.

Thirdly I expect to work hard. 1 have a very full diary in the first two months and as the days slip into weeks and months and my time with my friends, work colleagues and the great Australian landscape stretches into timelessness, I expect my soul to spring into abundant faith with all things, the work fulfilling my hearts desire, helping me to realize my innermost need to serve to be, to participate and feel a part of the whole without separation.

My fourth expectation revolves around playing - in the sun, on the surf, with my friends and loved ones' and all the exquisite joys that come with living, with the elements of the universe.

I will of course have challenges, our life is about challenges. the kind that enable you, to grow, experience and live life to the fullest. By this I do not mean life has to be hard, or that dramas are essential to living. I mean that a challenge is an opportunity - at least it is for me. It is an opportunity to change a belief, to look inside, stepping ever inward to the eternal essence of who I am, where I came from and why I am here

It is all of these things and more that draw me to the desert lands of Australia This vast continent thal entices without embracing. A land whose skies protect her innermost secrets, where I feel a stranger in a foreign land. Yet she calls me to her shores to learn, to work and to share whatever I can. And so the new year beckons wlth a mystery, that is wonderful, tangible and filled with expectation.

But first I have to welcome in the New Year, which I will do on the island of Arran on the western shores of Scotland Whereupon' armed with my drum, rattles and incense I will share the moonlight of the New Year with friends, islands, and standing stones, deep in the centre ot thc isle of Arran.

A hogmanay to present all Homanays, we will be singing with the stones, echoing the songs of the universe throughout the deepest parts of our beings. Sending their sounds to the places they can do their best work - in our hearts, our bodies, and souls - helping us to reconnect and remember why we are here and where we come from

All this, so that we may reach a deep understanding of out destinies Such, a coop awareness that we feel safe to release the unnecessary burdens that we insist upon carrying and decide to let go and let our souls live their deepest desires on the face of this beautiful physical world.

And so we dream, plan and encourage manifestation A perfect beginning to a new year, new cycle and new life. May 1998 be all you could wish for and more. May your destiny be fulfilled in conscious awareness and may your heart sing in the freedom of the joyous fulfilment of expectation.
